Ham and Bean Soup
Ingredients
6 cups | beef broth1 |
1 lb. | great northern beans |
1 | large ham bone |
½ lb. | ham, diced |
1 | large onion, diced |
2-3 | bay leaves |
3 tbsp. | molasses |
¼ tsp. | cayenne pepper |
Directions
Soak beans in water for 8 hours or overnight.
Drain beans. Combine all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1½ to 2 hours.
Notes
- You can substitute the 6 cups beef broth for 6 cups water and 3 beef bullion cubes or 6 cups of plain water.
